Containing 24 bottles per box, this pale lager was first brewed by Gerard Adriaan Heineken in 1873 at his Amsterdam brewery. It is brewed only with purified water, malted barley hops and, importantly, Heineken A-yeast, a proprietary yeast strain developed by H. Elion in 1886. Heineken is well known for its signature green bottle and red star bottled with 5% alcohol.
